It is alleged that he supplied General Franco with the contents of the messages. He is said to have avoided retransmitting messages .when possible, or else to have taken copies ami liauded them lo General Franco’s spies. The discovery that telegrams were missing aroused tlie suspicions of the police, who raided Seutenae’s house, where a woman friend handed over a packet of coded telegrams from Valencia. Several of the messages announced the sailings of the steamers, including the departure for Spain last month of three Government merchantmen which subsequently were attacked by an unknown submarine.
