SEA FISHERIES.
PROPOSED NEW LEGISLATION. FIRST EUROPEAN AGREEMENT. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 11. New sea fisheries legislation is to be introduced in the next session of Parliament so that the British Goveminent may give effect to the first I European agreement, which Includes i Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germanv Iceland and Norway. Although not a 1 signatory lo the agreement, France lias undertaken to give, legal co-operation. The agreement relates to all forms of trawling and bottom net fishing. If lays down standards for ihe size" of mesh in nels and for sizes of different fish which may be landed or exDosed for sale. The object, is Ihe preservation of the natural stork of Ihe common fishing grounds by restricting the catching of immature fish.
