BUILDING HOMES.

BTATE SCHEME BTARTINQ. Plans near completion. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Prime Minister, the Righ Hon. M. .T. Savage, said to-day that within a fortnight the Government would be making a start on building homes at Miramar and in the Hutt Valley as well as in other centres of the Dominion. Plans were practically completed and people in need of homes would look with confidence to having their hopes realised within the near future. Tiie housing scheme would be prosecuted energetically but the Government also would give every assistance to the man who wanted to build liis own house. The Government was anxious to secure the co-operation of local bodies and he saw no reason why it should not be forthcoming.
