——+—~— To AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALLERS. HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The complimentary Iball tendered by the South Auckland Football Associa—tion to the Australian Association toothall team at present touring in New Zealand, in the Regent Ballroom‘ last evening, attraCted an exceedingly larse attendance and was throughout the entire evening a delightful and highly suctcessful function. A bright spirit prevailed and a. particularly happy time was spent. The tballroom was say with a canopy of streamers twined overhead and boughs or blossom about the walls, \vhlle green and gold, and red and white streamers, the colours of the two teams, were arranged along the orchestral stand. The supper balcony was bright with ~llmlti—oolourod stream—ers and the tables looked very charm—ing with bowls of Iceland poppies and fernery, and streamers in the colours of the teams. ‘ Excellent music was played by the Regent Dance Band, and novelty dances added to the gaieiy of the function. Streamers, which were dis—tributed later, lent a carnival note. During the evening a delicious sup—per was served. Mr and Mrs J.
