The president stated that at the last meeting 0! the National Council held recently in Auckland both he and his co-delegale. .\lr J. ii. Furniss. of lluntly West. had voted for the principle oi the compensated price as ap—plicable to our export. commodities. and had renitlrmed the just price discount as u scientlilc method of combating the rising tide of cost-s which many people seemed to {our would be inuritahia as the result 0! recent Govcrnment lcgisintlon. “1f the Government wish to nullify any tendency towords a, rise in the cost or living they have only to implement Douglas‘s Just price formula." said Mr Pennlket. The president‘s action was endorsed by the delegates. it was announced that in conjunction with the i-‘armers‘ Union adequate financial arrangements tor some months had been made regarding the Dominion organiser, Colonel 5. J. E. Closey. who was at present engaged on a lecture tour in the South island. in answer to a question. .\lr Pennihet stated that during the absence or the Dominion president. Captain H. M. Rushworth. .\I.P.. who was Visiting England, the titular head of the movement would be the senior vice-presi-dent. Mr A. U. A. Sexton, M.P.
