In the presence rf a large gallery of spectators the final matches in the Wai Kato I.awri Tennis Association's championship and handicap tournament, postponed last Saturday on account or rain, were derided 10-day on the Hostrevor Street grass courts, considerable interest was attached to the matches in view or the appearance or leading Auckland and Waikato players in the finals. Livingstone (Waikato), 6—4, 6—o; Roach (Waikato) beat Mayson (Auckland; Ladies’ Singles. Semi-finals: Miss Margaret Beverley (Waikato) beat Miss A. Wilson (Waikato), 6—l, 6—3; Mrs Symmans (Bay of Plenty; beat Miss Sorby (Waikato), 6—3, 6—2. Final: Miss Beverley beat Mrs Symmans, 6—o, 6—o. Men’s Doubles. Semi-finals: Lucas ami Roach (Waikato) beat I-'abling and Dold, 6—2, 6—3; Brown and Mayson (Auckland) beat Partridge (Auckland) and Clow (Waikato), 2 c. Ladies’ Doubles. Semi-finals: Misses B. Griffiths (Auckland) and M. Beverley (Waikato) beat Miss Newell (Waikato) and Mrs Symmans (Bav or Plenty), G—3, -i—G. #_*.
