HEADMASTER HONOURED. PRESENTATIONS TO MR H. G. HALL. On the occasion of his impending departure from Hamilton to take U P 113 new duties as headmaster of the Belmont School, Takapuna, Mr «. u Hall, headmaster of the Hamilton West School, was the guest of honour at a function arranged at the school yesterday afternoon by the Hamilton West School Parents’ Association. There was a large attendance of members, past pupils and the staff, and warm tributes were paid to Mr Hall 9 efficiency and the progress made by the school during his four and a hai years’ term ias headmaster. Mr Hall was made the recipient of an ornamental brass lire screen and log box while Hie presentation of a bouquet was made to Mrs Hall. In making the presentations Mrs A. W. Wheeler, president of the Parents Association, said all .were very sorry 16 know that Mr Hall was leaving Hamilton West, but although they regretted losing him they were all pleased that his transfer meant pro- • motion. During The three years the speaker had been president of tho association she had seen excellent work done in Hie school by Mr Hall, , and. his place would be hard to 1111. In all functions connected with the ’ school Mrs Hall had been an energetic and tireless worker, and she would be greatly missed. Tho speaker congratulated Mr Hall on his promotion and extended the association’s good , wishes to Mr and Mrs Hall for success in their new sphere. The presentation of a bouquet was • made to Mrs Hall by Mrs R; Green- . slade. Harmonious Co-operation. ' • in returning thanks for the presen- • -tations Mr Hall said that wherever he t and Mrs Hall went they would have ’ warm feelings for Hamilton. It was a great regret to him having to leave Hamilton West, where he had been for four and a half years. During those years he had had some of the happiest moments of ills lile. Tho Parents’ Association, committee, staff, and children had all worked harmoniously together. lie felt that if something could he done to provide more musical or artistic considerations in the' training of children good results would be achieved. • Ho had endeavoured to do this at Hamilton West. Mr Hall commended the work of his staff, and said that at all times they had been willing to help him. The Parents’ Association, and Mrs Wheeler Jh ; particular, had rendered great ser*vlce to the school. Referring to the children, he said he had taught In many places, but he could truly say that he had never come across a finer body of children than those of Hamilton West. He felt proud to be their headmaster, and because of that and other reasons it was with great regret that he left the school. The sense of loss felt by parents by Mr Hall’s departure was commented upon by Mr G. Boyes, who said they had come to appreciate his good influence over their children. Mrs F. E. Mason also extended good wishes to Mr and Mrs Hall. At an Informal afternoon function on Tuesday tributes were paid by members of the staff to Mr Hall, and good wishes for success in his new \ sphere were extended to him. On behalf of the staff Mr E. A. Boyd made tho presentation of a set of hooks to Mr Hall, while Mrs H. Piper presented a orystal dish and a posy to Mrs Hall.
