ESCAPE FROM DROWNING.

PLUCKY RESCUE ATTEMPT. MISHAP TO YOUTH. (Special to Times.) OTOROIIANGA, Wednesday. A narrow escape *from drowning was experienced by a twelve-year-old boyi Roland Henderson, of Mangaronga, when he fell from a log on which he was attempting to cross the Waipa River. The boy struck his head on a snag in the river and was. rendered unconscious. A plucky attempt to rescue the hoy was made by a girl who was swimming in the vicinity, Miss Mavis Gray, but it was not until the arrival of nearby farmers that the boy was taken from the • water. Restorative measures were successful.
