TE MATA.

ROAD IMPROVEMENTS. The metalling of the Te Mata Raglan Road via To Ilutiwat was completed last Wednesday, though there Is still some earthwork to be done. The newly metalled road will be or great benefit to settlers on the Te Ifutiwal Road. This road is a cream route and the cream carter has hitherto had to compete with difficulties in the shape of heavy clay roads, horses and waggon often having to take the place of the lorry during rainy periods. Haymaking. The sudden hot weather has ripened up the hay paddocks, and haymaking Is in full swing In Te Mata. In many cases the hay is unusually heavy and as so many are cutting at the same time, It is very difficult to obtain sufficient men to get the hay in. Many people are already short of water.
