STEWARDS APPOINTED. PIG SCHEDULE CHANGES. A more systematic method of ticket ■collection and “gates” organisation at the annual summer show was advocated on the recommendation of a subcommittee, Messrs C. E. Holmes and F. D. Jones, at a meeting of the executive of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association yesterday. Tho introduction of five classes for Large Blacks and flic increase in the prize-money in the Berkshire and Tamworth classes to £2 10s for first place and £1 for second place was recommended by Mr G. .lew. In the export classes it was advisable in tho export section lo eliminate the judging on the hooks at llorotiu and to apportion the prize-money over the awards made on Iho hook at llic show and at the Smith field market. “Wc have been showing the pig section of the show, but, with encouragement, it should develop' into the finest display of pedigree and export pigs in the Dominion.” added Mr Jew. The recommendations were adopted and Mr 'l'. Marks of Auckland and Mr Ouddobb of New Plymouth were appointed judges of the export and pedigree sections respectively. A donation of £•"> as the prize in the grade dairy cow classes was received from Mr 11. Windsor while Messrs T. Church and N. Reid intimated that they were willing to add figns. and S.gns. respectively to ihe prize money in the children's calf club classes. The following chief stewards were reappointed : —Thoroughbred horses, Mr T. G. Hinton: carriage horses, Mr P. X. Clnrkin; juvenile and school classes, Mr R. Ranstend; Clydesdales, Mr Roland Hinton; milking shorthorns, Messrs W. Cooper Smith and 11. J. Finlayson; Friesians. Mr A. M. Wilson: Aryshlres. Mr W. R. J. Franklin; Jerseys, Mr W. T. Luxton.: Grade jerseys and calves, Mr 11. Windsor; Romney Marsh, English Leicester and Border Leicester sheep. Mr F. R. Seddoti; Southdown. Mr F. R. Seddon, fat. sheep, and fat and group lambs, Mr J. M. MeNicol; fat cattle. Messrs P. T. Powell and J. E. Powell; pigs, Mr C. A. Johnston; special pig classes, Mr 11. M. Peirson. It was decided to increase Hie prize money allocated lo the childrens call clubs section. The president, Mr W. H. Micrs, and Messrs P. Clarkin, R. Hinlon and W. 1,.
