LIQUOR AT A BALL.

MEMBERS OF COMMITTEE FINED. MILITARY OFFICERS PLEAD GUILTY (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, Thursday. Members of tho committee of the military ball held recently in Dannevirke were charged before the Magistrate, Mr Stout, with selling beer and wine without being licensed to do so. The defendants were officers or noncommissioned officers. The facts, briefly, were that the liquor was bought b v the defendants and served as refreshments at the dance, without charge to the patrons, {who had paid admission. It was stated i that the liquor was dispensed to I popularise the dance. Tiio defendants pleaded guilty, and each was fined £l, with costs 10s.
