. MRS ALFRED DEAKIN. United Press Assn.— Elec. Tel., Copyright. (Received Dec. 31, 2.30 p.m.) , MELBOURNE, Deo. 31. The death has occurred of Mrs MArtha Elizabeth Anne Deakin, aged 72 years, widow, of the late Mr Alfred Deakin, who was former Prime Minister of Australia, 1903-4, 1903-8 and 1909-10. Mrs Deakin was. widfely known for his philanthropic work, particularly in connection with returned soldiers. MR L. J. FRANK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NELSON, Monday. The death has occurred of Mr Louis 3. Frank. J.P. Deceased was prominent in business Circles and as a. director of Messrs Buxton and Company Ltd., was. well-known throughout New Zealand. Me had been with Buxton and Company for 33 years; amt for 07 years was a director, lie was Past. Chief Ranger of the Foresters’ Order and took a leading part in horticultursi Aiatters.
