AMERICA’S DANGER.
INTERNAL DISSENSION. „ LAWYER-AUTHOR’S WARNING. NEW YORK, Dec. 28. Mr D. R. Pichberg, the well-known author and lawyer, issued a warning at Cleveland to-day that America faces internal dissension unless the uneniployed millions are given work. Vpicing the hope that business would do fts part, lie said there were large numbers of business men who now favour the dole because it will cost them less than to give men work. Criticising this view as very shortsighted, he added: — ‘ . “ Perhaps it might be cheaper, even In a money sense, to find work for these Idle hands than support the armies necessary to hold them back if once these pleading fingers are turned Into threatening claws. “We may- have some reasonable fears of a foreign foe, but the greatest dangers threatening America are those of internal dissension.” .
