Motor taxation, according to the latest Automobile Association (Auckland) bulletin, is 500 per cent, greater titan in 1023. Reviewing the history of the road fund, it is stated that the motor taxation, was originally levied for the, purpose of constructing and maintaining roads and bridges, lmt during the past five years the enormous total of over live and a half million pounds had been taken from the proceeds of special taxes paid by motorists and expended by the Government in other directions.
