Mataki Gold Dredging, Ltd. —Under dale 17th insl., the dredgemaster reports:—"During the week ending t lie I C,|li insl., Hie dredge worked for 133 hours for a return of IP ounces 14 dwt. .18 grs. The dredge pulled ahead sft . in ground, the average depth of which was l.'H't. The length of the face is now 3301'!. The dredge had a good run during the week. In the early part of I lie week Hie wash showed signs of Improvement, but again on Wednesday became dl’ifty on one side with a good deal of buried timber on Ihe river side in the old workings. ! am still gradually dropping off ground on; the inside and opening out across the river. There is very little gold in Hie river, Ihe gold we are getting being very line and light."
