SWIMMING

EDUCATION OF CHILDREN

TRANSFER OF FUNDS. (By Telegrapn.—Press Association.) 'CH'RrSTGIIURGH, Thursday. A proposal to transfer £350 of its funds for use in educating children in swimming was approved by the council of the New Zealand Swimming Association to-night and a motion authorising the transfer will be submitted to the next meeting of the council.

There was also a scheme' advanced to transfer £154 from the overseas tours fund, but this was opposed and not adopted.

It was agreed generally that little good came of sending New Zealand swimmers to Olympic Games, but ;t was held that much good was done by visits of swimmers to New Zealand and to finance such visits money should be held in fund.
