OIVIL ENGINEER FINED. HOSPITAL ATTENDANT MISLED. ..(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. For ringing up tiie Christchurch Hospital and telling a girl telephone attendant that he was the superintendent of police, Cecil Mark Brown, described! as a civil engineer, was fined £5, in default one month’s imprisonment, bv the Magistrate, Mr Mosley. ■Brown stated on liic telephone that a certain woman patient was to have special attention, and for that purpose was to stay longer in Hie hospital, lit. said he was a police superintendent. He was speaking from a hoardinghouse in Manchester Street. The Magistrate said it was a serious offence, but lie would not sentence I'accused to gaol this lime.
