NON-REGATTA TRIALS.
V. St. GEORGE’S TROPHIES. Trial fours for non-i'egatta members were held for trophies donated by Mr V. St. George, a member of the committee of the Hamilton Rowing Club; Six crews took the water, and very interesting and close racing resulted and brought to light latent talent which will probably result in many of the contestants earning the honour ol representing the club at future iegattas. Mr J. Clough acted as judge and starting was by mutual consent.
Results;— k First Heat. —Paterson ,(stk.), Fowke, McKinnon, S. Hawken met I. Duncan (stlc.), Kane, Gilmer, Clague. Duncan’s crew prevailed by two lengths. Second Heat. —J. Wlnlc (stlc.), Hall, Gough, Mclntosh were opposed by Dodd (stlc.), Latham, Barry and Power. After a stern tussle Dodd’s crew came home winners by two lengths. Third Heat.—Jenkinson. (stlc.), Frogley, McKenzie, Luxton were matched against Smith (stk.), Palmer, Jackson and Mclntosh. A good display of oarsmanship resulted in Jenklnson’s crew winning by half alength. ■ ■ Semi-final.—Dunoan defeated Dodd by half a length. Final. —The final between Duncan « crew’and Jenkinson’s crew resulted in a ding-dong duel over the whole course and Jenkinson prevailed „by .. a. Jbare canvas amidst great excitement.. The winning crew was Jenkinson, Frogley, McKenzie, Luxton,
