GIRL FOUND SHOT
A pretty girl of 19 and a youth, who had been sweethearts since their school days, were the principals in a poignant shooting mishap at Driffield, England, which resulted in the death of the girl. She was Nora Miriam Naylor, aged I'9, the youngest daughter of Mr Richard Naylor, a timber merchant, of Driffield, and her grief-stricken boyfriend is Clarence Frost, aged 17, son of Mr William Frost, a butcher, of Driffield. The young couple’s friendship was a boy and girl idyll. They saw as much of one another as possible, and when Frost, who is employed in a butcher’s business at Hull, came home lot his usual weekly half-holiday he i, spent the evening with his sweetheart. the fields near the girl’s home. Solne time later Frost returned alone to his- sweetheart’s home and his distressed condition told the family that something serious had happened. He was sent home and a search of the fields was made. Nora’s body was found lying close to a stake fence in a field near to her heme. She had been shot in the head and the injury was so severe that death must have been instant. Frost was In such a state of collapse that he was put to bed at home and given a sleeping draught. It is assumed that- the gun went off accidentally as he was getting over the fence near which his sweetheart’s body was found. A curious feature of the affair is that 'Frost’s gun was discovered near King’s Mill sluice, half a mile from the scene of the tragedy. The fence Is about 4ft high and there is some v barbed wire at the top of it. Nora Naylor is the youngest of six daughters.
