The mooting of Sarazen and Shaw at St. Andrews to-day saw Sarazen win the match, 1 up, h's score card reading 72 to Shaw’s 73. Sarazen /scored three throes and twelve foura. The American played brilliant golf when it was realised that he was new to the course. Some of tho holes wero taken in masterly style, and he finished the course in five better than the scratch score. Shaw was also in good form, and although hia putting was weak at the opening holes it ifn* proved later. The average distance of the too shots going out was 278 yards, and coming in, 228 yards. A remarkable exhibition of driving, bunker shots and putting was given by Sarazen after tho match. Auckland.^—The British team won three singles, and lost one at Middlemore to-day. Suffering from lacerations to tho head, the rosult of a collision with a car near Cambridge, William Arthur Bray, 30, of Tauranga, a motor cyclist, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital this ovonlng.
