YOUTHFUL SONG WRITERS

DREAMS COMING TRUE. DANCE TUNE PUBLISHED. A dance tune written and composed by two 18-year-old Sunderland youths may bring them fame and fortune. A waltz called “The Isle of Dreams" has been accepted by a London firm of publishers, and this success has inspired the youthful composers to greater efforts.

They are Charles E. Fenbow, shop assistant, and R. W. McGulley, apprentice eleotrician. “We Jiave written dozens of ,songs and dance tunes as a hobby," Mr Fenbow said.

“I compose the musio and my partner writes the words,-but until we had composed ‘The , Jsle of Dreams’ we never thought of sending anything for publication. “If the waltz succeeds we have

plenty more ideas for new dance numbers. “We are busy with two compositions- —one a hymn and the other a song t for our old school—which we are 'composing for the headmaster, Mr J. B. Robinson." Fenbow while at school was regarded as a good pianist, and McCulley showed ability to write verse, but neither has studied muslo. seriously.
