GOOD ENTRY YARDED. 1000 STATION-BRED CATTLE, MEET EXCELLENT DEMAND, The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited, report having held their Morrinsville stock sale on Friday, when a good entry of all classes came forward, and met with a good demand at rates equal to those ruling at the central saleyards. Store Sheep.—ln this section competition was not as keen as has been the case for the last two months. Lines of two-tooth wethers ex the East Coast were offered and failed to reach the vendors’ reserve. This was also the case for lines of ewes and lambs offered. \ ‘Fat cattle. —A heavy yarding of_both ox and cow beef came forward. Competition was keen in both sections, os beef values remaining firm at late rates while cow beef values improved on late quotations. Store Cattle. —Over the advertised number of 1000 head of store cattle ; were penned and they attracted a large number of outside and local buyers. ' The entry comprised all station-bred cattle and without doubt was one of the best lines of quality cattle that has been offered in the Waikato for some considerable time. The first draft of 196 very forward conditioned bullocks were mostly Polled Angus cattle, and created a great deal of interest, selling under keen competition at advanced rates, the line averaging £6 12s 6d, while the top price for a pen of good forward cattle was £7 18s. Male cattle of all classes were in good demand throughout, but female cattle of which there was an extra large entry were not quite so keenly sought after, although the majority of the yarding changed hands at satisfactory prices. Pigs.—A good yarding of both fat and store pigs was penned. Baooners and porkers met with good competition and sold well up to late quotations. , Store and weaner pigs of which there was a large entry showed a slight easing tendency. Baconers made from about s}d to sfd per lb., and porkers from sfd to 6£d per lb. The quotations were as follow: — Fat Sheep.—Heavy prime wethers, 23s to 245; mixed sex 2-th. 20s to 22s 6d; medium prime, mixed sex, 2th., 19s 3d to 19s 9d; extra prime ewes, 17s; heavy fat ewes, 13s 6d to 14s 4d; heavy fat lambs, 19s 3d to 20s; medium fat lambs, 17s to 18s. Store Sheep.—Shorn two-tooth wethers, store condition, 17s; cull two-tooth wethers, 13s 6d to 14s; aged shorn ewes and lambs, 6s 6d, all counted. „„ _ Fat Cattle. —Heavy fat steers, £7 15s to £8 10s; prime medium fat steers, £7 6s to £7 10s; prime heavy fat cows and heifers, £6 to £7; prime light fat steers, £7 to £7 ss; prime medium fat cows and heifers, £4. 5s to £5 13s; prime light fat cowls and heifers, £3 10s to £4; heavy fat cows, £2 10s to £3 ss; light fat cows, £2 to £2 7s 6d; tillable cows, 35s to 395; fresh conditioned cows, 23s to 335; boner cows, 11s to 225; heavy boner bulls, £2 to £2 15s; lighter boner buffs, 20s to 395; service bulls, £2 to £3' 15s.
