REQUEST FOR INCREASED PAY
REFUSED BY TRANSPORT BOARD

AUCKLAND, Tuesday
A request that on Christmas Eve, when the Duke of Gloucester arrives, Increased rates of pay be given to all tramways employees, was received by tiie Transport Board this morning. The board discussed tiie request in committee, and decided that the circumstances did not warrant it being granted.
