VANCOUVER, Dec. 2

Mr C. T. P. Ulm plans to fake off from Oakland, California, for Honolulu, on the first stage of iiis pacific Right to Australia, at 3 p.m. to-day (about 11 a.m., Monday, New Zealand Lime). Mr Ulm will he accompanied by Mr ■G. Littlejohn as co-pilot and Mr J. L. Skilling as navigator.

•Mr Ulm took the aeroplane up for a 30-minute test flight', loaded with GOO gallons of petrol, on Friday. He barely missed a crash when he skimmed the fence of the held with about six inches to spare. His calculations were affected by a sudden change in the wind. After the flight, he said the aeroplane wa-s in excellent condition. “We . can make the hop with no trouble at all," lie said.

As the aeroplane was being given a 'final check, it was discovered that two instruments were out of commission, the rate of climb and the artificial horizon indicators. They are being repaired.
