BRITAIN’S DEFENCES.
LESSONS OF MANOEUVRES. COUNTRY’S'' DEADLY PERIL. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON. Nov. 4. The Daily Mall contends that the lesson of the recent manoeuvres is that had Britain been actually at war it is doubtful whether she would at present have a Navy. The newspaper says it is shown how ridiculously easily a small number of war aeroplanes can defeat a strong naval force. Referring to Lord Rothermere’s contention that the day of the warship is over, the Daily Mail says -the desperate -deficiency of war aeroplanes has placed England In deadly peril. The ■Government must Immediately start to build thousands of machines.
