HALLOWE’EN BALL.
HENRY SOLDIER SETTLERS The annual Hallowe’en ball held by the settlers of the Henry Soldier Settlement was held in the Tcnfoot Hall, when the Hallowe’en spirit was the order of the evening. The hall was decorated with black cats, owls and bats, the stage with skull and crossbones, and the Hallowe’en ghosts and witches made their appearance at midnight. Sailor's hornpipe, sword dance and tap dance exhibitions wero given by Miss Dulcie Sorenson, of Hamilton, Mr Cameron, of Hamilton, giving several items on the bagpipe®
The music was supplied by Dave Shaw’s (Iluntly) Melody Boys, and extras wero played by Mrs Johnson (Komakorau), Mrs W. Carswell (Gordonton) and Miss L. Wallbank (Nfcaruawahia).
