There was little between' King Brlerly and Nuu Nicer as they levelled up for home, with Gold Musk handy and Sararl, Bonny Gav, First Lap and Kelly all In It. lic. Gay Marigold was backed down to a short price over both divisions, carrying £lOl 10s and £261 on the respective machines. King Mestor, second rancy straight-out .with £163, had £135 10s Invested on' his prospects for a place. Whakapara was early to the fore and along the back was bowling along In front or Jalldy Karo, King Mestor. Psychologist. Gay Marigold and Gay Broney. Psychologist then moved up and across the top was showing the way to Whakapara, Arch Ruler, King Mestor and Gay Marigold, with Gay Broney bringing up the rear. There was little alteration in that order as they rounded the home bend where Gay Marigold had Commenced to Improve her position on the outer. Over the final stages Gay Marigold asserted herself, coming through nicely to win hy a length from King Mestor with Arch Ruler a length and a-half away. Whakapara was fourth, followed by Jalldy Karo, Gay Broney and Psychologist. Time, 1.20 3-5.

The Judicial committee of the Avondale Jockey Club yesterday held an inquiry into the accident to Chief Cook, who broke a leg while contesting the Henderson Handicap on Saturday. After hearing evidence, the committee found that the mishap was due to Chief Cook being crossed by Hushing, ridden by L. Clifford, and decided to suspend 'Clifford for a month.
