ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
CAUGHT IN BELTING. TAUMARUNUJ, Tuesday. Beatrice Robinson, aged about three, a daughter of Mr H. Robinson, made her way to the milking sheds without her parents’ knowledge. Her clothing was caught in Hie belting running between two sheds but fnrlnnately this stopped the machine. The girl was taken to the hospital, where'.she was found lo be suffering from a fracture or the leg and abrasions. FISHERMAN DROWNED. CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. A fisherman. Mr Samuel Nicholson, formerly a seaman in New /calami coastal vessels, was drowned at Clinllinin Islands on August 20. lie was lost overboard from a launch which was bringing mail from Waitangi to ttic trawler South Sea. Mr Nicholson was swept off the stern of the launch by a heavy sea, and in I lie darkness Ihe men on : lie launch could not lln-l him. although his cries for help could bo heard for a. time.
