COMPANY’S COMMISSIONS. DISCLOSURES IN AMERICA. SUBMARINES BUILT FOR GERMANY United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright (Received Sept. 5, 11.45 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Sept. 4. Sir Basil Zaharoff, the European man of mystery, received commissions from the Electric Boat Company of New London (Connecticut) so Mr Henry R. Carse, president, testified before the United States Senate Committee to-day in Its munitions Inquiry. Mr Carse said the company paid Sir B. Zaharoff commissions amounting to 766,000 dollars between 1919 and 1930. Mr Carse also stated •that Sir Basil received commissions on their Spanish business. The committee was informed that the German U boats of the great war had been built upon United States-owned patents. Mr Carse further testified that his company and Vickers, Limited, had divided the world into exclusive areas for the sale of submarines and that the companies exchanged patents for building the boats.
