THE AUCKLAND MARKETS. BIG LIST OF SALES. (By Tel. —Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. ■Business on the Stock Exchange keeps up, and a big list of sales lias ■been put through 'during the past 24 hours. At tills morning’s call G-ovcrnment stocks were again in keen demand at lain rates. A slightly lower level of £ los for ihe 19 40 issue was confirmed with another sale at that figure. Subsequently a parcel of bonds was on offer at'£loß ss, this being the only issue available. .Ranking shares were steady. Insurances were very tlrm. vendors of New Zealands and South British holding off. There- was steady bidding for Australian miscellaneous securities and popular Dominion Industrials. In the mining section Wailris were steady at between 33s and 33s (id and Grand Junctions at 4s id to is sd. Matakis moved up with buyers at 2s sd. The Noon Call. Brisk trading was recorded at the noon call, and there was a healthy tone, in the market, with scxcial advances in values. Rank of New Zealand were Mill in demand at £2 7s 0d after sales, with holders asking-£2 7s Sd. Electro-Zincs showed a rise of Is 6d on previous sales. I woolworth’s (N.Z.). which were quoted by holders at £B, brought in buyers at £7 ss,
