VICARAGE QUESTION.
DISPUTE AT CAMBRIDGE, LEFT TO TRUST BOARD. (Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. Although with the extended time granted by the Diocesan Trust Board, the Rev. G. G. Bell should have left the vicarage at Cambridge to-day, ho is still in possession, and in ills latest statement lie says he will remain in the vicarage until such date as may be llxed by the Diocesan Board. The churchwardens have stated that Mr Bell has written them indicating that the responsibility for his eviction lies entirely in their hands, now that the Primate had written suggesting that drastic action should not be taken. While the churchwardens respect the Archbishop’s feelings, they are convinced it is not within their power to ask the sheriff to nullify the written undertaking of Mr Bell given last week. The position has been left entirely in the hands of the solicitors of tho Trust Board and it is understood it is their intention to ask Mr Bell to conform lo Hie Court’s finding. Mr Bell has further written that ho docs not recognise the church officer* as such.
