OBITUARY.

MRS R. JENNINS. The death ooourred after a few days’ illness at her home, “ Gwynnelands,” Hamilton Road, Cambridge, yesterday, of Mrs Rita Maud Jennins, wife of Mr Arthur Maitland Jennins. Born in Christchurch, the late Mrs Jennins was educated at the Wanganui Girls’ College and had resided most of her life in Auckland and Cambridge. She was a daughter of the late Mr John Cusack, of Christchurch. In 1919 she married Mr Jennins, of “ Gwynnelands,” a well-known Cambridge farmer. Mrs Jennins was extremely popular with a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her husband, one son, her sister, Mrs A. S. McKenzie, of Hamilton, her brother, Mr ,T. G. Cusack, of New Y'ork, and her mother, Mrs J. Mitchell.

MR M. BATLEY. TIRAU, Monday. The death has occurred of Mr M. Batley, aged 77 years, a well-known and much-esteemed settler of some 30 years in Tirau. The deceased Is survived by Mrs Batley, two sons, Messrs J. and F. Batley, of Tirau and four daughters, Mesdames S. J. Bear (Tirau), 11. Wine (Tirau), W. Shanley (Matamata) and Willomott (Auckland). The funeral was largely attended. The Rev. J. J. Heard held a short service at the homestead and also conducted the servloe at the graveside. MR JOHN WALKER. OTOROHANGA, Tuesday. A well-known native of the Rohi Ruhi Pa died after an extended illness. He was 30 years of age, and wellrespected by both races. MR J. J. DOUQALL. MEMBER OF LEGAL PROFESSION. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The death occurred this evening of Mr J. J. Dougall, one of the oldest and best-known members of Hie legal profession in Christchurch. Some years ago he was prominent in civic affairs and was Mayor of Christchurch In 1912. He was a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board for six years and had been a member of the Canterbury College Council since 1016. His chief interest for many years had been in the Navy League, and lie had been president of the Christchurch branch for the last 12 years. MR COLIN BISSET. WHANG ARE!, Monday.
