The contention that the Arbitration Court is powerless, in the absence ol’ new legislation, to make a general order restoring the 10 per cent, cut to industry all round, was made yesterday by the president of tiie Trades and Labour Council, Air J. Read, in discussing the trend toward handing back Hie wages reduction to the workers of New Zealand. Mr Read stated that representatives of Labour interests propose- 1 to wait upon the Government regarding the question.
