CHILEAN “NAZIS.”
TITLE TO BE CHANGED. PRESENT TERM TOO ODIOUS. (From a Correspondent.) SANTIAGO, Chile, Oct. 1. The Chilean National-Socialists who started out aping Hitlerism and call themselves “Nazis” for short, have decided that the German movement lias made itself too odious throughout the world. At a recent session of the Nazi leaders it was voted to abandon the German model and switch over to the Mussolini programme.
They will continue calling themselves National-Socialists, however instead of Fascists, for the simple reason that they have registered the party under the former name and have had thousands of reams of paper pointed with the National-Socialist letter head.
These Nazis are very hopeful that the Government will soon lake them in. They are very considerate of the Government and have supported it In its attack of the Communists, and it is outrageous to see how they are making overtures to win the support of lhe Army and Navy.
Opposed to them is the organisation known as the Republican Militia, — also ostensibly pro-Uovernmeiit,— which now claims 50,000 members finely trained. The Army especially hates this rival organisation and trouble U brewing.
