RUAWARO MYSTERY.

STILL NO TRACE. USE OF AEROPLANES. . HUNTLY, Thursday. Inquiries so far have failed to reveal any trace of Mr Samuel Pender Lakey, but the police search continues to increase in intensity. Strict organisation obtains and leading officers are reticent regarding details of the operations. The number of police engaged 1* well over 50., Detective Walsh, of Wanganui, arrived to-day, One question which the public are asking is why there Is such necessity to trace Mr Lakey’s body. The present search of extraordinary dimensions is required'because its success will disprove any suggestion that Mr Lakey can be alive. The assumption is that Mr Lakey was shot and the recovery of a bullet from the body would make this certain. Another aeroplane was over the Waikato River to-day.
