LUCIDUS MOVES FAST. (Special to Times.) TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. The course proper at Te Awamutu was available for fast work this morning, the flags being about 30ft. out from the rails. The two-year-olds were worked next to t-he rails. The going was excellent and some, pleasing trials were recorded. For other than fast work the Inner grass and plough were In use. On the course proper Marechal was going .well within himself to clock 1.7 1-5 for an easy five furlong effort, the first half-mile in 53 1-5. Bambury 'Stops Badly. After moving away smartly Bambury was stopping badly at the conclusion of half-a-mile in 50s. Ruri was not extended over a similar distance In 525. The son of Surveyor has been working pleasingly and Infusing a dash Into his work Indicative of an early return to the winning list. . Kanapa and Jonathan were associated over half-a-mlle in 50s, the latter doing the better of the pair at the end. Satin King hit out over five furlongs In 1.5 3-5. Kopurere beat Spearwln over five furlongs in 1.7. A Bright Half-mile. Lucidus recorded the best half-mile essay of the morning, coming home in 49 4-ss. He is in great heart fo" engagements ahead. Musquil was not after time, being restricted to useful work over a round. Wait and See came home from the half-mile peg in 535. Arawa Rose had the measure of Loombination over a similar distance In 51 4-5. A Useful Seven. From a standing start, Eager Rose (assisted over the last half by Trlshna) slipped over seven furlongs in 1.32 2-5, the last half-mile in 51 3-5. Dust Up easily defeated Campaneio over half-a-mile In 51s. The two-year-olds Top Flight and Gay Sister were sent along over three furlongs on the rails in 37 l-ss, the latter being in front at the finish. Kurapae was worked the reverse way on the hurdle grass covering halfa mile in 525. ,
