WOMEN’S DIVISION

ELSTOW BRANCH. At the monthly meeting of the Elstow branch of the Women’s Division of Farmers’ Union, a very interesting talk on the pattern department was given by Mrs J. West, of Morrinsville. There was a fair attendance and the roll-call, sing, say, whistle or pay, brought forth some good efforts and many a penny. Miss Perkins of Morrinsville, gave some very enjoyable elocutionary ilems. The competition for the day, home-made yeast bread, was attempted by nine persons and was won by Mrs H. Strange with Mesdames Priest and 11. Blackford second. A collection of warm clothes was sent to help the poor in Auckland.
