WEDDINGS

MACDONALD —SMITH. The .wedding- -was - celebrated recently at the Methodist Church, London Street, Hamilton, between Doris Smith, elder daughter of Mr. and' Mrs. C. T. B. Smith, of Te Pahu, and Mr. Rod. Macdonald, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs D. Macdonald, oi Rototuna. The Rev. Mr. Peat officiated. The bride who was escorted by her father, wore a dress of white crepe de on-ene, out-on slender lines, with deep collar. The hand embroidered veil was arranged with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white lillies and maiden hair fern. Miss Phyllis Smith, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a dress of pink satin, and carried a posey of roses.' Little Jean Fullerton, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl, and wore pink crepe de chine. She carried a basxct of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Keith Macdonald. The wedding breakfast was held in the church hall. Mrs. Smith received the guests in a becoming dress of blue marocain, and bouquet of heiithrope flowers. -Mr. and Mrs. Macdonald left ny car for a tour of the north, the bride travelled in a frock of new . blue with hat to tone. The wedding took place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Marton, on June 22, between Dorothy Jean, second daughter of Mrs Ellis, Grey Street, and the late Mr W. A. Ellis of York Farm, Marton, and Arthur, late of Kawhia, Waikato, son of Mr A. E. Wilde, of Waitahuna, Otago. The Rev D. Mclvor officiated and Mrs R. Ball was at the organ. The church Avas prettily decorated ■with hydrangeas by friends of the bride, a large bell of the same flowers being suspended abo\’e the bridal partj. A feature of the service was the singing of the marriage 'hymn by pupils of the Turakina Maori Girls College. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr Alfred A. Ellis and wore a charming gown of white Chantilly lace, made on slim fitting lines, with fully flared skirt. 'Her beautifully embroidered veil was caught with orange blossoms. She carried a sheef of arum lillies, and was attended by her sister, Constance, whose frock of carnation pink crepe foamme was made on slim fitting diagonal lines, with small cape. She Avore a small silver turban and carried a bouquet of pink carnations 'and vfreesias. The Rev. C. R. C. Ross, -of Eastbourne, Wellington, Avas best man, and Messrs K. F. Cochran and J. J. L. Searing acted as ushers. The bride’s mother -\vore black georgette and lace ’Jvith black hat and furs, and carried a bouquet of deep pink' cyclamens and maidenhair fern. Miss Frances Ellis, sister of the bride, Avore an ensemble of grey marocain Avith touches of mauve. She carried a posv of heather with autumn tints. Mrs . Ellis afterwards received her guests'’in a large marquee erected on the laAvn.

Mr and Mrs Wilde left by car on their Avedding tour, the latter Avearing a smart ensemble in deep yacht blue. Their, future home will be in Hangapai, North Auckland, were Mr Wilde is engaged in the home missionary work in the Presbyterian Church.
