OBITUARY.

LADY RUNCIMAN. (Omclal xvirplpos.) RUGBY, Feb. 20. The death occurred to-day of Lady Runciman, wife of Lord Runciman and mother of Mr. Walter Runciman, President of the Board of Trade. She was 85 years of age. The late Lady Runciman was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. John Lawson, of Northumberland. She married Lord (then Sir Walter) Runciman in 1868. Her husband wai created a baron on January 1, 1933.

MR BERGER SORENSEN. PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. The death lias occurred of Mr Ber* ger Sorensen, one of the pioneers of Hie district, aged 89. He had resided in the Manawatu district since his arrival in the Dominion from Norway 62 years ago.
