AUCKLAND SKIN SALE.
PRICES GENERALI-Y LOW. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. There was a reduced demand for hides at the fortnightly sale held by Auckland brokers yesterday. Exporters were not operating and prices were about Jd a pound lower all round. Calf and yearling skins sold at unchanged rates and sheepskins were steady. There was a number of poor condition salted skins on the market. Tallow prices declined by about 30s a ton following the fall in the overseas marketprices for best grades were:— Hides.—Best ox, medium to heavy, 4ld; light, 3.^1; cow, 33d; yearlings, Gjd: kips, ltd; calfskins, 53d. Dried Sheepskins.—Three-quarter to full wool, One crossbred, 33d; coarse crossbred, 3d; half-wools, -fine crossbred, 33d; coarse crossbred, 2:|d; bare and quarter wools, 23d. Sailed Sheepskins.—Aery few woolly skins offering; quarter to half wools, best grade, is each; hare to quarter wools, (id to 8d: lambskins, best, I Oil; light and small, 7d; hare pells, 3d. Tallow.— Best mixed, i-is 6d; second, 10s 6d to 13s*
