DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
REPRESENTATIVES TO MEET. CONSIDERATION OF PROBLEM. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. In view of the further fall in dairy produce prices representatives of the dairying industry will reassemble in Wellington to-morrow to reconsider the situation which has developed out of the proposal to regulate the importation of both Empire and foreign produce into the United Kingdom. Among those who will confer on the question to-morrow will be Mr. W. A. lorns, chairman of the Dairy Produce Board, Air. D. Jones, chairman of the Meat Board, and Mr. W. Goodfcilow, who was present in a consultative capacity at last week’s meeting-. No public indication has yet been given regarding the nature of the suggested restrictions, but it is understood that an essential principle Is that foreign supplies should be more drastically restricted than those from Empire countries. As far as New Zealand is concerned, however, it Is behoved that the recent large increase in butter production in' Australia is causing difficulty. Probably that difficulty could be largely overcome If the proposed restriction could be computed on the basis of output In a year before tho Australian increase became ,so. marked.
