RELIEF WORKERS.
CONDITION OF FUNDS. FAIRLY HEALTHY STATE. MAINTAINING ALL O CATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The condition of Ihe Unemployment Fund was mentioned In a question asked by Mr W. A. Yeileh (Government—Wanganui) in the House of Representatives to-day. Mr Yeitcii asked whether, with a view to allaying anxiety, Ihe Minister of Employment, would make a full statement regarding the condition of ihe Unemployment Fund and what provision would bo made to meet the additional burden on the fund that might lie expected during the winter months.
'ldic Minister, Mr A. Hamilton said that, realising that unemployment might, bo somewhat more difficult in winter than in summer, the hoard was endeavouring to conserve ils funds, it had been anticipated that regitr.itlons would have fallen off during the summer months, hut there were so many relying on the fund at present that, practically the whole income was being used. The fund, however, was in a fairly healthy condition, and with the help Of local effort, it was hoped at alt events to maintain the present allocations. There was still a possibility that there would he a falling-off j n registrations during the remaining summer months.
