The borough of Heston and Isleworth (Middlesex) lent 5A acres of land to farmers to grow vegetables to lie distributed among the unemployed. The harvest included 15,000 cabbages, 3000 lettuces, half an acre of French beans, and a potato crop expected to yield 9J tons.
