FORFEITURE OF BOND.

WANTS TO GET MARRIED. TEACHER AND DEPARTMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The Education Department has refused to allow a young woman at the Auckland Training College to resign to get married without forfeiting her £IOO bond. At a meeting of the Education Board to-day members criticised this attitude. The chairman said the woman would probably not get more than three months’ work in the year if ’she did complete her training, and ■ It would have been thought that the Department would thankfully receive her resignation, as there were far more applicants for positions than there were positions. She had expressed her willingness to complete her three years’ service in the future if needed, but the department held that her marriage 'barred her from making such an offer. Other members said the Department’s attitude was absurd, and the board decided to urge re-consideration of the case.
