AT FRANKTON YARDS, j 1 LATE QUOTATIONS MAINTAINED, There was a large yarding of ox and cow beef at the weekly stock sale at the Frankton yards yesterday, when the demand was good. Prices were the same as the previous week, though with the large yarding there was an easing tendency. Sheep came forward in extra large numbers, good quality offerings realising late rates. Other offerings were easier. There was an average yarding of fat and -store pigs, prices showing little alteration. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report having held their weekly Frankton stock sale yesterday, when a full yarding of all sorts failed to maintain last week's Improved rates. Cattle.—Our entry of ox beef was of only medium weight but was of good quality. Competition was not so keen as at last week's sale, and values declined slightly. Recent quotations were barely touched for prime quality cow beef, while medium to poor-conditioned met with a much easier market, decreasing slightly in value. Store cows met with a fair demand. Prime medium weight ox beef made £6 to £7; medium quality do., £5 4s to £5 15s; lighter conditioned, £4 10s to £5; prime fat cow and heifer beef, £5 to £5 17s Gel; good fat cows, £4 to £4 17s Gd; fat do., £3 5s to £3 15s; lighter do., £2 15s to £3 2s Gd; light do., £2 5s to £2 12s Gd: killable, £1 10s to £2 2s; stores, 18s to £1 Gs; boners up to 14s; medium runners, £1 5s to £1 los.
