REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURE MAORI TOURING TEAM. PLAY WAIKATO ON SATURDAY. A Rugby football match that is creating a great deal of interest in the Waikato Is the fixture to take place at Hamilton on Saturday, between the Waikato representatives and the New Zealand Maori team. The Maori team, which lias- had a fair measure of success on its tour to date, has moulded into a strong combination. The team plays the fast open type of game, but they will be fully extended by the home side. The match will he a big attraction and patrons can be assured of a good exhibition -of the code. The Waikato team will be:— Full-back, M. Davies (Taupiri). Three-quarters: Anderson (Morrinsville), Carlson (Matamata), Wilson (Matamata). Five-eighths: Stacey (Cambridge), Hook (Hamilton). Half-back: Denz (Hamilton). Back row: Story (Matamata). Middle row. C. Cameron (Morrinsville), Thomson (Waipa), A. Cameron (Morrinsville), T. Cassidy (Hamilton ). Front row: Hedley (Morrinsville), Ensor (Matamata), Leeson (Morrinsville). WAIPA RUGBY UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Mr G. W. Mairs presided at the weekly meeting of the Waipa Rugby Union management committee. After a discussion on the Ballistite Cup competition, it was decided that the draw for Saturday next be Te Awamutu v. Pirongia in this competition, while Rovers and Waikeria will play in the Insurance Cup competition. The chairman reported that J. Turney, who had been suspended at the previous meeting, had appeared before the emergency committee, and his explanation was accepted. N. Jackson had not appeared.—Action approvedThe referee in the Te Awamutu v. Arohena match reported having ordered an Arohena player off the field for continually questioning his decisions.—The player concerned will be asked for an explanation. Parnell (Auckland) Club offered to send its B senior team (unbeaten in the grade this season)- to Te Awamutu on September 9. It was decided that owing to Waipa Union having a full lisL of engagements It Is unable to accept the offer. The secretary was instructed to write to the Waikato Union asking for a definition of the Waipa tlnlon’s northern boundary. Leamington Club (Cambridge Union) lodged a 'Challenge for the Binnio Cup.—The challenge was accepted. The secretary was Instructed to write to the Hamilton Union regarding that body’s offer to send its fourthgrade representatives to Te Awamutu to play the Walp- ’ Cnl grade repre- , sentatfves on A ust 13, suggesting that the visit he arranged for August 20, if possible. CAMBRIDGE SUB-UNION. At the weekly meeting of the Cambridge sub-Union Management Committee Mr H. Cubis presided. . The following junior matches were set down to be played at the Square on Saturday: Matangi v. Leamington, 1.30 p.m. (Mr 11. Carter). United v. Tauwhare, 2.45 p.m. (Mr B. McDonald). In connection with the forthcoming ball on August 25, Messrs S. Nicholson, R. S. Entwistle, T. Hall, A. Harris, W. Webber, P. Stacey, E. Chapman, II .B. Garland, P. Sefton,, M. Williams, ■the president and secretary, were appointed a committee. It was decided to forward a challenge for the Cucksey Cup to the holders, the Matamata sub-union’s third grade team. Permission was granted the Matangi Club to play a fancy dress- match t Matangi on Saturday, provided it did not interfere with the junior competition.
