■Captain A. C. Boccard, of Sydney, is at the Hamilton Hotel. Professor John Dickie, of Knox College, Dunedin, Is on a visit to Waikato. At present he is in Cambridge. Mr F. C. Peace, general manager of the Hamilton Hardware Company, has resigned. Mr L. Sole, of the Waitara branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been temporarily transferred to New Plymouth for some weeks. Mr J. F. Quinn has been appointed Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Hawke’s Bay land district, and Mr F. R. Burnley has been appointed chief surveyor. Sir Cyril Ward has been appointed to the vacancy In the directorate of the Court of Directors, of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand, caused by the death of Mr Arthur Morten. Mr Howard Moody, formerly house manager and organist at the Civic Theatre in Auckland, has been appointed to a similar combined position at the De Luxe Theatre in Wellington. Mr A. Radford, who has been on the Waitara staff of the railways for about ten years, has been transferred to New Plymouth. Mr Worthington, Whangamornona, is 'to take Mr Radford’s position. The Rov. R. McGregor, who has been In charge of the Waitara Methodist Circuit for nearly four years, has responded lo a call from Willowby, South Canterbury, and will take over his new circuit in April. The management of Foster’s Hotel, Wanganui, was taken over yesterday by Mr and Mrs M. J. Kyne, of Gisborne, from Mr and Mrs J. R. Foster, who will in future occupy a similar position in the Grand Hotel, Auckland. Messrs W. T. Dingle (Auckland), P. Miller (Palmerston North), W. H. Stimson (Rotorua), Mason Chambers, Maurice Chambers (Havelock North), A. B. Wilson (Wanganui), A. E. Hutchinson and A. V. Shorter (Wellington), are at the Hamilton Hotel.
