N.Z. ASSOCIATION. THE 1932 CHAMPIONSHIPB. APPLICATION FROM HAMILTON. At the monthly meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Golf Association, Sir Alexander Roberts (chairman), presided. The council extended a welcome to Mr Page, who was elected a member at the annual general meeting of delegates at Christchurch. The question of method of playing the open and amateur championships was fully discussed,' and is to be given consideration by members of the council and brought up at a later meeting. In connection with the arrangements at the recent championship meeting the council unanimously passed a resolution expressing its high appreciation of the manner in which all arrangements in connection with the tournament at Shirley were carried out by the committee and officers of the Christchurch Golf Club and congratulating the club on the excellence of the course. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews sent a notification regarding an amendment to Rule 28, which will be of considerable Interest 'to golfers. The old rule stated that only certain loose impediments might be brushed aside by the club and that all others had to be picked up off the green but the amendment now makes it permissible to brush aside with the club any loose impediments on the green, irrespective of the position of the ball, provided that the club is not laid with more than Its own weight upon the ground. TE AROHA CLUB. MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL. In the final of the Te Aroha Golf Club's men’s championship J. Kenny was defeated by C. 11. Laver, 6 and 5. The latter has won this title three times, having been victorious also in 1928 and 1929. At the end of 18 boles Laver was three up, with a round of 79, to Kenny’s 82.
