A good finish ensued Callamart winning comfortably, Lynn Dhu, Antrim Boy, Amorist and Make Up fell.

BURDEN OF TAXATION. REQUEST TO RACING CONFERENCE (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) STRATFORD, Thursday. Dealing witli racing taxation, which he described as a heavy burden on dubs, the president of the Stratford Racing Club, Mr D. J. Malone, said at present a Government rebate of I t per cent, was allowed to clubs on the first £23,000 put through the totalisator, which afforded a measure of relief, but a lot of the smaller clubs received very small benefit from it. lie suggested that the dub approacli the Racing Conference with a request th it the Government allow a rebate of 2} per cent, an the first £lO,OOO and lj per cent on the next £15,000 up to £25,000. That would give a measure of relief to clubs which at present are having a hard fight for existence.
