THE TROTTER VANCLEVE.

(To the Editor.) ! Sir,—ln your Issue ot August 8, In your Trotting Notes by »• Padlock," you mentioned the various horses Imported by the late Mr .1. A. Buckland, and among them you place “ Vanoleve." This Is not the case as "Vancleve ” was Imported by my father-1 in-law, the late Robert Wilkin, along I with Berlin, Blackwood Abdallah and I six mares. I had the control of these I horses and mares In Christchurch, and | am positive that my statement is cor- | reel. Vanoleve was only two years old I think, and was not considered very highly at that time. He was sent to Australia and sold there. It one ot the old catalogues compiled at the lime of the Importation could be obtained In Christchurch it would bear out what I have stated.—l am, etc.. E. B. COX. Cambridge, August 10, 1931.
